∙ About Jessica ∙
Jessica Fudim has been teaching Pilates for twenty-five years and has led workshops and instructor trainings in the Bay Area, New York and the Netherlands. Her sessions are based on Joseph Pilates' method and influenced by functional movement practices. With a compassionate spirit and attentive eye, Jessica empowers her diverse clientele to rehabilitate from and prevent injuries, improve posture and balance, nurture the body through pre and postpartum changes and support longevity of healthy movement mechanics throughout one's later years. Jessica completed her Pilates training with Ellie Herman in San Francisco in 2000 and continued to fortify her teaching skills and repertoire through her studies with Balanced Body University (BBU) and master teachers such as Elizabeth Larkam, Eric Franklin, Marie-Jose Blom, Mary Bowen, Lizz Roman and Tom McCook. Before launching Jessica Fudim Pilates, she enjoyed working with clients for more than ten years at Finding Center Pilates in Oakland, CA, with studio co-owners Kate Weglarz and Susan Klawiter. Jessica originally turned to Pilates to address her back and foot pain while studying dance in college. As a result, these chronic ailments improved swiftly and the holistic lens of Pilates helped Jessica develop a deeper understanding of and respect for how the body works. You can see her in action in the "Ball" Chapter of Ellie Herman's Pilates for Dummies and onstage in her dance-theater work. Jessica lives in Sonoma, CA with her dear family who inspire her to stay connected to the joy of movement. |
